Monday 6th July

18th & 19th Century Activities on the West Looe River

Leader: Carol Vivian

Carol Vivian is a local historian with an expert knowledge of archaeology in SE Cornwall. She will take us down forestry tracks and sunken lanes, passing through the Giant's Hedge, to the river where we will see a lime kiln, salmon traps and possibly the remains of Trelawne Mill and fulling mill.  Approx 1 to 2 miles walking, some of it muddy, so please wear appropriate footwear.  After the visit we are all invited back to Carol’s house at Trelawne Barton for coffee & biscuits.  Meet near Pelynt at Trelawne Barton (GR SX 219 541) at 6.30pm.
