Monday 3rd August

Calstock - an Inland Port

Leader: Brian Spencer

The village of Calstock, on the Cornish bank of the Tamar, was an important river port, particularly in the C19 when local mining was at its peak.  Brian Spencer, an enthusiastic local historian who has lived in Calstock Parish for over 25 years, will lead us on a walk of about 2.5 miles around the village. Mostly on level made-up roads, but also on an unmade track in the Danescombe valley, so please wear appropriate footwear.  Meet at 7pm in the car-park (GR SX 436 685) on the quay (behind the village hall).
