ARCHAEOLOGY IN DEVON
Saturday June 12th 2010, 10.00 – 17.15,
at the Barnfield Theatre, Barnfield Road, Exeter.
The Devon Archaeological Society will host its fourth annual dayschool on the highlights of recent archaeological excavations and research projects in Devon. The day will provide an overview of work from across the county, ranging from excavations of prehistoric sites to recent landscape surveys and artefact studies.

PROGRAMME
10 am: Registration and coffee
10.30 Welcome: Professor Andrew Fleming, President of DAS
Lunch will be at around 1pm, tea will be served at the afternoon break, and the day will conclude at 5.15 pm.
Papers to be presented will include:
Henrietta Quinnell (University of Exeter): Recent developments in prehistoric ceramics from Devon.
Andrew Passmore (Exeter Archaeology): Training for the D Day landings: a new survey of Braunton Burrows.
Brynmor Morris (South West Archaeology): Recent work on Roman settlement in Cullompton.
Andy Crabb (Dartmoor National Park) and Simon Hughes (AC Archaeology): Excavation of a Bronze Age round house at Bellever, Dartmoor.
Bill Horner (Devon County Council) Prayerbooks, Pipelines and Planning Appeals: a year in the life of the Devon County Historic Environment Service.
Dr Jo Cox, (Keystone Historic Building Consultants): The Walronds, Cullompton: a grand town house of the 17th century.
The cost is £17 for members and £19 for non members, which includes tea and coffee but not lunch.
